Learning at Penlee House Gallery and Museum
Penlee House Gallery and Museum, Penzance, is the only Cornish gallery specialising in the Newlyn School artists (c.1880-c.1940) including Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes, Frank Bramley, Walter Langley and Laura Knight. Set in an elegant Victorian house and park, Penlee House also covers West Cornwall\'s archaeology and social history and offers an excellent cafe and shop.

Our strengths
Our fine art collections, including the work of the Newlyn School artists, and our archaeological and social history collections are a fantastic resource for the teaching of art, art history, local studies and social history.
Our small but dedicated team of education volunteers have a range of skills, including local knowledge, Cornish language studies, artefact handling, storytelling and role play that contribute to the exciting and stimulating schools workshops at Penlee.
We can adapt any session according to age and ability, and best of all, all workshops and outreach sessions are FREE!
Facilities available
Our education space, Penlee Coach House, situated in Penlee park, is available for schools to eat lunches, and is occasionally used for schools workshops. It also hosts all our children\'s holiday activities and the adults art and craft workshop programme.
