Newquay Heritage Archive and Museum
Newquay Heritage Archive & Museum provides a number of themed exhibitions relating to Newquay and Cornwall's historical and cultural heritage together with a variety of general displays and exhibitions. We have a large archive of historical information relating to Newquay for researchers.
Exhibits include interpretation boards recording the history of Newquay from the Stone Age to the present time with particular emphasis on the 19th century port, fishing industry, the lifeboat and the development of tourism. Our associated group 'Newquay Association for Cornish Heritage' has a large number of Cornish related books together with displays of maps and other items of Cornish interest.
Admission & prices
Our main entrance is on Manor Road adjacent to Newquay Bus Station opposite the bottom of St Georges Road car park in Newquay town centre. There is FREE admittance, but a donation would be most appreciated as we rely entirely on the generosity of supporters. We are open from Wednesday to Friday 10.30am to 3.30pm and Saturday 10.00am to 12.00 noon throughout the whole year for the benefit of local residents as well as visitors to Newquay.

Trenance Cottages hosts our room with items of general and Newquay related interest as well as that provided throughout Trenance Cottages. These are reconstructed 19th century cottages showing how life was lived at home in the 19th century. This is seasonal but is available at other times by special request.
DairyLand Farm World on the outskirts of Newquay hosts our seasonal museum. There is charge to enter the DairyLand complex and this includes entry to probably the finest agricultural heritage museum in the South West. Within the complex The Newquay Old Cornwall Society museum also hosts exhibitions from the Redruth Old Cornwa

Information
We are adjacent to the Bus Station and within minutes of a public car park and all the town centre facilities.
We have a variety of postcards, books and other items relating to Cornwall and the history of Newquay for sale.
Newquay Heritage Archive & Museum has historical, contemporary and cultural items including a range of Cornish artwork and ceramics in our Gallery Room, where many original Cornish paintings are available to buy competitively priced, framed and ready to hang. There is also a range of postcards, greetings cards, books as well as vintage Cornish studio pottery to buy.
For researchers into Newquay and Cornwall's historical and cultural past as well as those researching family history we have a large collection of information available. Newquay Old Cornwall Society has a wide ranging archive covering Newquay and district of documents, maps and photographs. Newquay Association of Cornish Heritage has an extensive number of books, journals and magazines available relating to Cornwall and Cornish interests.
Our knowledgeable volunteers are on hand when the museum rooms are open to answer questions and assist in research. There may be a charge for more extensive work to support the museum.
