Museum job opportunity: Communications and Marketing Manager

The award-winning Telegraph Museum Porthcurno is seeking an experienced Communications & Marketing Manager to join the senior museum team on a full time basis, providing maternity cover for up to 12 months.

This is an exciting time for the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno and the Communication & Marketing Manager’s post is pivotal to the future success of the museum.

A number of key marketing priorities have been identified including:

  • Increasing visitors to the museum, shop and cafe
  • Development of plans to grow group trade travel from UK and overseas.
  • Development of plans for digital engagement to support our digitisation project.
  • Development of strategic campaigns to support the Fundraising Strategy.
  • Development and promotion of the Public Programme of exhibitions, events and activities.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a sound understanding of all aspects of marketing and communications and should have at least 3 years’ experience in marketing, ideally within a senior role and with some experience of the tourism or heritage/culture sector. Budget management is essential and line management experience advantageous as the Manager has responsibility for the Apprentice Communications & Marketing Assistant.
