Tudor tours for school groups
Cotehele House is a Tudor building with some later adaptations. The Hall, Chapel and Kitchen in particular retain their 16th-century layout and character, and provide an excellent resource for school visits. Contact the property on 01579 351346 or e-mail cotehele@nationaltrust.org.uk for more information.
Resources available
Cotehele will provide Tudor costumes and a tour guide to accompany you around the house. To get the most out of your visit, you should:
- Book at least one month in advance so we can create a unique visit, and decide on the key points you want your group to learn
- Arrive by 9:30am to ensure there is enough time to get ready for your tour. The house opens to the public at 11am, school tours MUST commence at 10am
- We can accommodate a maximum of 40 pupils (adult:pupil ratio of 1:10)
- Visits are avaible from mid-March to late October, excluding Fridays
Our strengths
We provide a membership scheme specifically for schools and academic groups. From only £34.50 your whole school can be covered for 12 months, getting free admission to any National Trust site. Visit http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/membership/educational-group-memberships/ for more details.
Facilities available
Tudor-style costumes are provided for the children to wear over their uniforms, and the Education Room is made available for the whole day if required.
