Rocks & Roots
Roots & Rocks is a Constantine workshop for KS2 children.  Activities include a drama session based on information drawn from the 1851 and 1891 census for a Cornish farming family.

Schools need to provide their own packed lunch.

Details:
Children act out in costumed scripted plays - one set in 1851, the other in 1891. Each playlet draws out general themes being played out at the time: industrialisation, emigration, the collapse of the mining industry, schooling and child labour. After lunch the plays are performed and the children discuss the changes. The children also handle artefacts, look at photographs, and make butter.
