The Society’s Programme for 2005/6 concluded with the Annual General Meeting at which Hilary Borkett was elected Chairman; taking over from Peter Hicks. Long-term committee member Stella Jenkin was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
The Society has received a significant award from the National Lottery through the “Awards for All” scheme. This will provide a small public address system, usable by speakers, a lap-top computer and a digital projector. These will be used to project video and DVD from the Society’s archive films and to make much greater use of the Society’s digitised picture archive.
