Porthcurno Telegraph Museum has now closed temporarily whilst we install new visitor facilities including a new cafe, and exciting new exhibitions. This is work we wouldn’t be able to do whilst visitors are enjoying exhibitions and activities.

We will re-open in summer 2014 and look forward to welcoming you to the new museum at that time. In the meantime, there are lots of ways to stay updated with events and activities, updates from the development and sneak previews, and advance information about our 2014 re-opening events:

We’re not closing completely though...

Our new building, which houses the archive and search facilities and Clore Learning Space, will continue to open for special events, family activities, Ideas Cafe evening talks. The building is also available for private hire; to make an enquiry contact Caroline Seats on 01736 810966 or email: caroline.seats@porthcurno.org.uk

We will also continue our work with schools, colleges and community groups through our educational workshops and outreach sessions. On-site workshops will take place in the brand new flexible Clore Learning Space. Information about our range of KS1-KS5 workshops can be found online here. Access to the museum’s archive will also continue as normal, with brand new search room and digitisation facilities for on-site research visitors.
