Learning at the Royal Cornwall Museum
Schools Art Collection
The Royal Cornwall Museum houses the Cornwall Council Schools Art Collection. This important collection of paintings and sculptures was set up in the 1960s by the then Cornwall County Council for the sole purpose of making nationally important artwork accessible and inspiring to local school children. Working in collaboration with schools we have now developed an online exhibition and learning resource. These resources focus on five paintings from the collection with ideas for activities which are aimed at both Primary and Secondary level pupils and their teachers to use in the classroom or in individual study. The Museum also offers workshops and learning opportunities at the museum in Truro and a selection of paintings are available for loan to schools. Contact learning@royalcornwallmuseum.org.uk for more information.
