Plaque commemorating James Finn VC unveiled

The unveiling of an Information Panel on James Henry Finn took  place on the Finn VC Estate, Bodmin on Saturday 9th August at 11am 2014. It was produced by Bodmin Town Museum and students from the Media Studies Department of Bodmin College. James Henry Finn won the military's highest honour for bravery on April 9th 1916, for rescuing injured comrades whilst under Turkish machine gun fire in Mesopotamia, now Iraq. The panel was unveiled by members of the Finn family. Also in attendance was the Mayor of Bodmin, members of the Town Council, Bodmin Town Museum volunteers and representatives from the British Legion and the Salvation Army, of which Finn had been a member.

The plaque is located on the grass bank near  the entrance to Finn VC Estate from Dennison Road.
