Our Director James Green recently attended a meeting at the House of Commons with The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, along with Directors from other Plus Tate* partners.

This was to coincide with the publication of research Plus Tate: Connecting Art with People with Places, which reveals the huge regenerative and economic benefits of the Plus Tate group of organisations.

Together the Plus Tate partners, excluding Tate sites

  • attract 3.5 million visits annually
  • employ around 500 staff
  • collectively have an annual turnover of around £33 million

Newlyn Art Gallery contributes more than £1 million to the local economy every year and the return on each £1 of public money received is £2.70, one of the highest in the Plus Tate network.

Full details are in the research report which can viewed or downloaded here
