The museum closes for the winter on the 29th October to allow for maintenence to the building and updates to the exhibitions.

The museum will reopen on the 13th February 2017 with some exciting changes to the Mining and Minerals exhibition on the 3rd floor where you will be able to see the new Rillaton Cup exhibition and explore our interactive displays.

'The Story of Childhood and Toys' exhibition, which delighted many visitors this year, will be updated to 'Tin Toys and Tales' as we tell the facinating story of how our the use of tin impacted the history of toys.

The story of local crafts and trades will be told on the second floor with some beautiful examples of tools, pottery and glass.
