Local History of Liskeard and District and much more! Not to be missed - In Sickness and In Health - a gruesome history of the tools used in medicine over 100 years ago. We also have the largest collection of toys in Cornwall feature iconic toys from the past have such as James Bond's Golden Gun and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The museum is also part of the World Heritage Site for Mining. Displays include mining and geological artefacts. Explore the development of the town from Mesolithic settlers to the present time. See many interactive and augmented reality displays here too!

  • Cornish Heritage

    From 1700 to 1914, the metal mining industry played a vital role in the area. It was a dangerous profession! Learn about the mining and the terrible accidents and illnesses the miners and their families had to endure.

  • Mining and Geology

    See the story of the tin, silver copper and other amazing minerals. Learn how deep the mines were and who worked above and below ground.

  • Local People

    Learn about the history of health in the area. Explore stories of local characters such as Emily Hobhouse who changed the lives of many during the Boer War and Dorothy Penrose Foster who was awarded medals for bravery in WW1.

  • Medicine

    A brand new exhibition for 2018 ! We are delighted to present the story of medical health at Rosedean House Surgery.

  • Fantastic Toys

    The best toy exhibition in Cornwall ! We have an extensive collection of the history of modern and older toys at the museum.
