A poppy wreath which has been made as part of the heritage centres project Hayle and the Great War will be used by Hayle British Legion during the towns Remembrance Day events.

The wreath has a poppy for each Hayle solider that died during the First World War; each poppy has been handmade by volunteers and visitors to the Trust over the summer months, with support from Lisa Faisey a local textile artist.

This project has been a great success and saw the heritage centre connect with a range of local community groups;  it delivered creative workshops with local brownies and the secondary school, Bodriggy Survey Crafts group created a memory quilt and we ran an exhibition that was seen by over 600 people.

After the Remembrance Day events have finished the wreath will then form part of the permanent collection at Hayle Heritage Centre.
