Liskeard & District Museum were thrilled when well known Toy Collector, Phil Chapman of The Toy Propshop approached us to ask if we would like to house a selection of some of his rare and iconic toys to display alongside our own toy collection. Phil, a Liskeard man himself and lifelong collector was keen to show off his growing collection inside the museum residing in his own home town. His unique collection spans from 1930 to date and includes some vary rare and iconic pieces. From Tin Plate Toys and Tri-ang to Knight Rider and Cabbage Patch Dolls- he has a story to go with them all. Of course, we didn't hesitate and have launched a brand new exhibition- The Story of Childhood and Toys which launches this February half term and will run until October.

The enhanced collection features iconic toys dating from the Edwardian Period right through to the 1990's. Whether nineteen or ninety, there will be somethintg here to delight and entertain everyone. In addition, there will be a Victorian Schoolroom plus quizzes, a Teddy Bear Trail and of course, the rest of the museum's brilliant collection of gems, minerals and mining to see and much more.

Make it the go-to activity for your half term and don't forget to grab yourself a museum sticker too!
